Three Collared Doves and a…House Finch in a pear tree?

July 22

Not quite living up to the yuletide carol but reminiscent of it as three Eurasian Collared Dove bestowed their presence upon us in our yard today. Sara yelled from our bedroom that there were doves in our yard! I was barely able to focus on them from my office as they were almost full frame shooting at 910mm (500mm x 1.4x x 1.3x mag).

I was so very surprised to see 6 Collared Doves in our yard in Cache Creek. I am feeding them so hope they stay in this area for winter.

Cool! I have 2 in my yard all year. Just caught them mating today! They are beautiful in flight and obviously sound coo coo cup cool with my morning coffee. Weird but I also have dozens of House Finch hanging our in my trees. – Al Smith Kelowna,BC,Canada.
