It’s been a heck of a weekend and I haven’t had time to post any updates until now. Due to air traffic delays into Chicago O’Hare airport, I didn’t get to my hotel near Crane Creek until 3AM EST on Friday. I woke up around 6AM (only getting about 3 hours of sleep) and headed out to Crane Creek. It was pretty stormy all day, with a couple of downpours lasting in excess of 45 minutes. I just threw a tarp over myself and my camera equipment and hoped it wouldn’t last too long!
Despite Sunday being beautiful and sunny, Saturday was MUCH more productive. But, over the course of the weekend I still got 18 new photo birds:
American Woodcock Black-throated Green Warbler Blue-headed Vireo Blue-winged Warbler Cape May Warbler Common Grackle Gray Catbird Hooded Warbler Least Flycatcher Louisiana Waterthrush Ovenbird Palm Warbler Prothonotary Warbler Scarlet Tanager Swainson’s Thrush Veery Wood Thrush Yellow-throated Vireo
I’m going to be in Cleveland for the week but I hope to get some other photography in during the morning hours this week until I get back out to Crane Creek on Saturday. In the meantime, here are some of my highlight shots from the weekend:
