- Comments: "heard and saw very briefly - the calls were what alerted me - female-type. Fighting with Anna's over feeding rights on Bottlebrush trees"

- Comments: "Medium sized woodpecker landed a few dozen meters away on pine snag. Hung on the side on the snag, with tail feathers supporting it. Back and wings were an iridescent dark green with no markings. Belly was reddish. Head and face were a dark color. Bill relatively long and thin in profile."

- Comments: "Luckily, some birders were there to help us get onto the Painted Redstart. So strange to see this species again after the one in Rocky Nook last year. Basically an all black bird above, with bright red underbelly and white undertail coverts. Large white wing bars and a white curlicue beneath the eye set this bird off beautifully. It has been here awhile, seen by many observers. Beautiful!"
