    - Comments: "Came back with bins to check the costas. Small green and gray HB acting territorial with high pitched staccato chip. Clean green uppers and gray underside with short tail. Even with wings when perched. Med length decurved bill. Grayish cheek with light subocular stripe. Grayish where gorget should be on throat except for small band of purple at distal gorget below bill. Not coming to feeders but rather protecting cuphea and salvia"

    - Comments: "Easily separated from other HB by high pitched chip turning into a trill. green and gray HB Smaller than Annas with short tail, frequently bobbing. Seen without bins however it seems to be guarding a part of the yard so I should be able to get a look with Bins later."

    - Comments: "An adult, based on photos that others have taken. The was also my impression based on the white scalloping above and apparent lack of red on scapulars. But distance was too great to be certain without a scope. It was on the north shore of the lake, with several Long-billed Dowitchers, a Spotted Sandpiper, and a Greater Yellowlegs."
