My non-birding partner, Kim Reger, reports seeing a bird at Bolsa Chica this afternoon that reminded her of a small Great Blue Heron, but with a white belly, orangeylegs, and a crouched posture while foraging. The bird was on the flooded oil property on the south side of Wintersburg channel, visible from the trail and not far west of the neighboring homes. Confirmation required. Jim Pike HB |
