Birders,
The Tundra Bean-Goose was at Piute Ponds (on a flat toward the eastern part of Duckbill) early this morning, with its companion Greater White-fronted Goose. At 0705 hr both of these geese flew west heading toward the Lancaster Water Treatment Plant, and presumably were/are there during the day though not necessarily where they can be seen. Also of note was a golden-plover (still mostly in basic plumage) which I am fairly confident is a Pacific Golden-Plover -- seen from Parking 1 looking north into the west part of Duckbill around 930 hr. It flew east along the south side of Duckbill but we could not relocate it there. But around 1130 it was back in the same spot due north of Parking 1. Both Red-necked (4) and WIlson's Phalaropes (1) were present and Solitary Sandpipers were at Friends Pond (1) and just north of Duckbill (2). There were a few landbird migrants, but the very calm conditions were not conducive to good numbers of migrants and I only saw one swallow all morning (a Northern Rough-winged).
