Greetings, The Wood Sandpiper was in the public access of San Jacinto Wildlife Area, this morning Apr 2. I and one other birder initially found it at about 7:30AM giving very brief views before disappearing into the reeds. It teased us with brief glimpses at several sections of the reed patches for the next 1 1/2 hours until I left at 10:00AM. When I first got there just before 7:00AM, there was dense ground fog but lifted as soon as the sun hit the ponds. This statement still applies: (The bird is in shallow water along the main road about 0.7 miles east of the headquarters, approximately here:33.876990,-117.112470).
