The Southern Giant Petrel, Macronectes giganteus, is a large seabird of the southern oceans.
Diet
The Southern Giant Petrel is one of the few predators of penguins, mostly their chicks. They mostly eat carrion but sometimes the female will hunt live animals in the ocean.
