Mew Gull "#1" - Seemingly adult bird in basic plumage, showing distinct subterminal bill band - reminiscent of adult Common Gull (L.c. canus) I've photographed in the U.K. in basic plumage. According to H&D, subterminal bill band still within range of Mew Gull (ref. 22A.4). Dark iris, red orbital eye ring. Face not as dusky as other adult Mew Gull but smudgier back of neck/nape. White tips showing in primaries and extensive white on P9/P10.
